Steven McCoy is an American entrepreneur, journalist, talk show host, writer, producer, and philanthropist. He is best known for his show “Sessions with Steven” available on iTunes. Disney’s Alumni Association inductee, Steven McCoy has been constantly buzzing through the media, and the unique format of one-on-one interviews on his show is one of the best things that has happened in Hollywood in the past few years.
Early Life and Education
Steven McCoy was born on July 19, 1988, in Newark, New Jersey. He spent most of his childhood in New Jersey. He also suffers from retinitis pigmentosa (Steven is legally blind) and Usher syndrome. Despite these difficulties, Steven completed his school studies and later graduated from Essex County College, then studied Media Arts with a minor in Creative Writing at NJCU (New Jersey City University).
Career
Steven McCoy started his career as an intern for the Walt Disney Company in Orlando, Florida. His talent was recognized by Disney, and he was offered a job as a Host for Radio Disney in New York and even got to work for Disney Theatrical Production. One of the best things that happened to Steven during his time at Disney was being anointed as “Angel” for Disney’s charity program called “VoluntEARS”. Steven had a good experience in writing too, as he later started working as a Scriptwriter for BET Network’s “106th and Park”. His personal desire to have the freedom to do whatever he wants and set the rules himself was the reason Steven ventured into entrepreneurship as he started his own company, Spoken Entertainment LLC. Spoken Entertainment LLC is known to millions of people for its exceptional format of creative online content featuring interviews with renowned public figures and covering red carpets and virtual online events. Then he started his own show, “Sessions with Steven”. He often writes articles and conducts interviews as well.
Philanthropy
Steven McCoy is famous for his philanthropic work. He has hosted many charity events and book giveaway drives. Steven has been on a promotional tour via Zoom to raise awareness of the eye disease retinitis pigmentosa. Recently, Steven McCoy organized a Christmas charity event via Social Media titled “Sessions with Santa” where he and his family gave away money, gift cards, and prizes to poor families and kids with autism. He also did a book bag drive, giving away school supplies to children in Newark, NJ.
