Stockatomics is a financial data platform that links the physical economy to listed companies. It publishes monthly benchmark prices for critical minerals and for the components used in AI data centers, power grids, electric vehicles, batteries, defence and robotics, and connects each mineral and component to the companies that produce and buy it.[1][2] The company was founded in 2026 by Monte Malukas and is based in the United Kingdom.[3]
Overview
Stockatomics builds its benchmark prices from monthly international trade data, measuring the value and quantity of each mineral and component shipped. Where a market is spread over several product forms, such as graphics processing units shipped as chips, cards or boards, the platform combines them into a single benchmark.[2] Each mineral and component is linked to the products that use it, the economic sectors that depend on it and the listed companies that produce or buy it, so that changes in physical supply can be followed through to individual stocks.[1]
The platform is aimed at investors, equity analysts and researchers. It differs from conventional stock screeners, which are built mainly on share prices, financial statements and trading indicators, by starting from what companies physically make and consume.[1]
Research
The methodology behind the platform is set out in the working paper Stockatomics: A Constraint Transmission Framework for Mapping Physical Supply Scarcity to Public Equity Exposure (2026), published on Zenodo and the Social Science Research Network.[2][4] The paper describes how scarcity in physical supply, measured through supply elasticity, supply concentration and demand momentum, can be traced through supply chains to the listed companies exposed to it.[2]
AI Infrastructure Index
The Stockatomics AI Infrastructure Index is a monthly index of the cost of building AI data centers. It combines the benchmark prices of components such as GPUs, servers, memory, optical networking, transformers, switchgear and cooling equipment, weighted by spending on each, and reads 100 in January 2023.[5] The index readings and component weights are published as open data under a CC BY 4.0 licence on Hugging Face, Kaggle and GitHub.[6][7][8]
Stockatomics Terminal
The Stockatomics Terminal is the platform's subscription research environment. It provides the full price history of each benchmark, trade volumes and countries of origin, supply and demand scores, company exposure measures, sector demand maps and catalysts, together with personal portfolios, watchlists and alerts.[9]
Reception
Stockatomics data has been cited as a source in industry coverage of battery materials supply.[10]
