Stojan Stojanovski is an internationally recognized photographer/videographer for nature and landscape photography, and a leading promoter of his home town and one of the oldest cities in Southeastern Europe – the city of Ohrid.

Career

Back in 2003, he bought his first photo camera and started exploring the world of photography. After many years of investing in non-formal photography education, investing in professional equipment, and self-financing photography and video projects, in 2004 he officially founded 2S studio for digital marketing. In 2015, his studio received recognition from Eurovision Song Contest journals for best social media promotion of the artist Daniel Kajmakoski (Eurovision Song Contest 2015)

Life and Work

Stojan is a true lover of the surrounding nature of the Ohrid Lake and a true supporter of the development of tourism in the city and the region. His passion for nature and travel, combined with his continuous learning attitude and skill development, makes him an exceptional photographer and one of the most respected in the country. When not working, he enjoys walks by the Ohrid Lake and taking photos, which every day have more and more fans and admirers nationally and even more internationally. His greatest passion is astrophotography. His photos are continuously published on accredited websites for astrophotography such as Space.com, Cnn, NBC, etc. Moreover, his photos are often ranked in the top 10.

2S Studio, run by Stojan Stojanovski, is a specialized agency for digital marketing that includes a wide range of combined services including video recording and video editing, graphic design and prints, 360 tours, 360 photography, web design and maintenance of web pages, social network creation and development, google ads, outdoor advertising, and branding, livestreaming of events, etc. So far, the 2S studio team and Stojan Stojanovski have implemented over 150 projects for companies, hotels, travel agencies, international organizations and other entities. For his dedicated work, Stojan received an award from the municipality council in 2013 for being the best promoter of the city.

Despite his work with the studio, through livestreaming, photography and video footage, Stojan is helping and donating to local sports events such as football, handball, and basketball. His most well-known and self-financed projects in the past 4 years are the livestream of Orthodox Easter Liturgy in Ohrid and Orthodox Epiphany (as one of the most visited events in the country and region).

"Marriage proposal on Christmas Full Moon"

Stojanovski took a photo that conquered the world. The image was named "Marriage proposal on Christmas Full Moon". What makes this photo amazing and unique are the silhouettes of a marriage proposal in front of the moon. The picture was taken in 2015 on Mount Petrino in Ohrid. The photo appeared on the front page of Cnn News, titled "First Christmas full moon in nearly 40 years seen worldwide" . Stojanovski even published a backstage video of the event on his youtube channel in 2017.

Ohrid Astronomy Association - OAA

The Ohrid Astronomy Association (OAA) was founded in 2004, initially as an Amateur Astronomical Society by a group of astronomy enthusiasts from Ohrid.

Initially, the initiative was created by Stojan Stojanovski, who later, by photographing several astronomical events, creating an OAA website and posting on the Internet, contacted the Skopje Astronomical Society, which helped him realize and start OAA activities in Ohrid.

During that time, OAA photos were published in the print magazine Emitter, and in 2005 the world's number one web portal for space and astronomy, Space.com, contacted Stojan as OAA began a successful collaboration and published photos of astronomical events.

To date, OAA photographs taken from the largest astronomical events of the year are among the top 10 in the world, and over the years have been downloaded and published on Space.com, CNN.com, FOX News, NBC News, etc. With such a focus on work, follow-up, and photography, OAA is successfully ranked in the world, and in addition to locally inspiring young people in the field of astronomy, it directly helps to promote the city of Ohrid and its surroundings with a combination of astrophotography and nature, which defines this region.
