Stojo
Stojo is a Brooklyn-based company founded in 2012, producing sustainable lifestyle products, with a focus convenience and portability[1]. Their first product was their Stojo Pocket Cup, now the Stojo Cup, designed to be collapsible while adhering to top standards for clean materials. As of December 2019, they launched the Stojo Bottle[2], a fully collapsible, reusable water bottle for a wider variety of beverages.

Stojo was co-founded by Jurrien Swarts[3], Alex Abrams, Ben Melinger in Brooklyn in 2012. Coming from backgrounds of finance and consulting, they originally branded as Smashcup, garnering investments from fundraising platforms Kickstarter and Indiegogo, eventually participating in WeWork’s incubator program. The company operated out of the WeWorks Lab in Dumbo until December of 2019, then moving to the Dock72[4] location.
Swarts currently serves as the company’s CEO. Prior to co-founding the company, he was a Business Development Specialist at Credit Suisse, during which time he also founded Holton Farms out of Westminster, VT. Since his initial hire in April of 2018, the company has grown to 15 people and counting at its headquarters as of February 2020.
Products[edit]
The original cup was launched in The Pocket size, measuring 12oz. The Biggie, 16 oz. launched in 2018. The Titan, 24 oz., and The Mini, 8 oz., came in Sept 2019. Both The Biggie and The Titan also include a reusable straw as part of the design. The Stojo Bottle launched in December 2019. Swarts has announced a plan to launch a bowl with the same collapsible design.
All Stojo products are made with dishwasher-safe, LFGB Certified, food-grade silicone. Additionally, they are BPA-free, lead-free, and phthalate-free.
Partnerships[edit]
Stojo first launched with Starbucks in Singapore in October 2018, creating branded cups to be distributed in store. In 2019 Hong Kong, the Philippines[5], Indonesia and Vietnam followed suit. In February 2020 Starbucks Asia Pacific launched the official Starbucks Green Cup.
Stojo is a part of 1% For the Planet[6], an international organization whose members contribute at least one percent of their annual sales to environmental causes. Within this organization, Stojo partners with Lonely Whale[7], an incubator program that focuses on instigating change to help protect the ocean.
Retail[edit]
Stojo is sold globally in over 40+ countries with 20,000+ retail locations. They also have direct-to-consumer e-commerce distribution, shipping globally as well. Within the US, Stojo has physical presence in major stockists[8] including Bloomingdales, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, Bed Bath and Beyond, Cost Plus World Market, and b8ta, as well as smaller regional and local boutiques.
