Stori Yangu

Stori Yangu is a documentary series that premiered in 2017. It profiles different Kenyan personalities who have contributed to society. These include politicians, journalists, businessmen, and health-workers.

Production[edit]

The show was commissioned by MultiChoice and produced by Eugene Mbugua and his private company known as Documentary & Reality TV Ltd. The series has had different directors who worked on different seasons of the show. The first three seasons were directed by Chris Sang and the fourth by David Mutuku. The official production of this television series started in 2016. Stori Yangu is in Kiswahili. Stori Yangu was narrated by Kenyan News Anchor, Rashid Abdalla.

Filming[edit]

The four seasons were shot and framed at a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. Each season of Stori Yangu is set to have 13 episodes running for 46 minutes. The first season was filmed in 2016 but launched in early 2017 on Maisha Magic East. The second season was launched in January 2018, the third season in January 2019. The fourth season kicked off in 2021.

Premise[edit]

Stori Yangu is about celebrated personalities telling their stories from childhood to the inspirational beings they are now. In every episode, family and friends share candid details of the main cast that help to shape their story.

Broadcast Since its premier, Stori Yangu has been broadcast all over East Africa. All episodes can still be found on Showmax and Maisha Magic East on DSTV.
