StreetLight Data is a big data transportation analytics company headquartered in San Francisco, California. Their online, web-based platform, StreetLight InSight®, helps transportation professionals run studies on mobility behavior.[1]

History[edit]

The company was founded in 2011 by Laura Schewel, who “at the time was developing new technologies and data approaches for transportation data as part of her PhD at UC Berkeley’s Energy and Resources Group.”[2][3] The company was co-founded by Paul Friedman, an engineering and product management executive.[4]

Software and Services[edit]

StreetLight InSight® is an online, web-based software for analyzing mobility patterns.[1] The platform manually processes “trillions of location records into travel patterns.”[5][6]
