Stuart Littlefair (Born 8th January 1970) is a British Astrophysicist and Climber known for his work on low mass stars and brown dwarfs[1]. Littlefair is a Professor and Lecturer of Astrophysics[2] at the University of Sheffield.

On the 8th September 2015 Littlefair successfully climbed Rainshadow[3], a significant 9a climb in Malham Cove and is currently ranked as one of the best amateur climbers in the United Kingdom. When asked about his draw to rock climbing Littlefair responded "there isn't one" before clarifying that there is an element of ego in it, and that it "gives me a kick."[4]
