Subcontrabassoon

The subcontrabassoon is an instrument proposed and in development by Richard Bobo; it is a member of the bassoon family one octave below the contrabassoon. The range of the instrument once developed will be from A-1 to F2[1]. The subcontrabassoon will be a true 32 foot instrument, designed to be the true subcontrabass of any ensemble[1]. The subcontrabassoon will be 1.92m (6'4") at full height[2], weighing 16kg (32lb).
