Suburban Rail Loop North (SRL North) is a planned rapid transit underground rail project extension in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It involves extending the SRL East railway line from Box Hill in the eastern suburbs, to Melbourne Airport in the north western suburbs of Melbourne via Doncaster, Heidelberg, Latrobe University, Reservoir, Fawkner and Broadmeadows. SRL North is being managed by Suburban Rail Loop Authority.
SRL North is the second stage of the stand-alone Suburban Rail Loop system. Construction expected to commence in 2035 and is expected to open in 2043.
SRL North will run between Box Hill on the Belgrave and Lilydale lines, and Melbourne Airport on the Airport Line and will be entirely underground. SRL North will include stations at Doncaster, Heidelberg on the Hurstbridge line, Bundoora (Latrobe University) , Reservoir on the Mernda line, Fawkner on the Upfield line and Broadmeadows on the Craigieburn Line.
