Sud Agarwal is an Australian anesthesiologist and clinical research physician based in Melbourne. He is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of iNGENū CRO, a contract research organization specializing in high quality, FDA-centric clinical trials.

Education

Dr Agarwal began his studies at the University of Bristol, obtaining a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) in 1995, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) in 1999. He later moved to Australia to complete his specialty training in anesthesiology and was awarded a Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 2009.

Career

Dr Agarwal completed his fellowship board exams and became a specialist anesthesiologist in Australia in 2009. His career involved substantial public hospital and private hospital clinical practice and he further subspecialized in cardiac anaesthesia. He has been actively involved in clinical research throughout his residency, specialist tenure and also as part of the leadership team at iNGENu CRO (Contract Research Organisation).

In 2019, he also services Chief Medical Officer and Non-Executive Director of Impression Healthcare, an ASX and later NASDAQ listed company. He is most recognised for his work on developing clinical development programs seeking FDA registration under FDA 505(b)2 provisions.

Dr Agarwal joined iNGENū CRO, an Australian-headquartered, multinational, clinical research organization. This company conducts clinical trials throughout Asia-Pacific with a deep focus on using technology to accelerate timelines and reduce costs.

He has a strong interest in First-in-Human (FIH), preoperative, novel analgesics and complex adaptive oncology studies.

Volunteering

Agarwal volunteered as an anesthesiologist with AusAID under the Pacific Islands Project, providing anaesthesia for surgical patients in Kiribati, a tiny island in the Pacific. In addition, he has been a mentor and trainer for dozens of early stage clinical researchers including physician researchers.

He has also served as a lecturer for many years at Monash Medical Centre, Melbourne, teaching medical students and junior doctors on a wide variety of clinical and basic science subjects.
