Sue Ebanks
Sue Ebanks (born 1974) is an American scientist and associate professor at Savannah State University for the College of Sciences and Technology Department of Marine and Environmental Sciences.
Education
Ebanks is a Georgia local who grew up exploring the waters from the surrounding Savannah area, prompting her interest in studying the environment and marine life.[1] She graduated from Jenkins High School in Savannah, Georgia and went on to double major in marine and environmental sciences at Savannah State University. Afterwards she earned her master's degree in marine science studying shrimp parasitology at Savannah State University and went on to earn her Ph.D in marine biology and fisheries at the Rosenstiel School of marine and Atmospheric Science at the University of Miami.[2]
Research
During her Ph.D, Ebanks was a graduate research assistant studying environmental physiology of fresh water pulmonate snails. Her current research focuses on microplastics and other costal hazards to develop stronger environmental policies and practices.[1][2]
