Sugaru Miaki (三秋 縋, Miaki Sugaru, born 1990.[1]) is a Japanese novelist from Iwate Prefecture, Japan.[1]

Biography[edit]

From 2011 to 2013, on the site 2channel under the pseudonym Genfukei, Miaki self-published works such as "It is easy work to make people kill themselves", "What it was like rewinding back ten years and starting over from the age of ten", and "I sold my lifespan for ten thousand yen per year." They have been republished multiple times on other compilation websites. Several other works can be found on the author's website.[2]

In 2013, Miaki debuted when Media Works Bunko published the novels "Starting Over" (スターティング・オーヴァー, Sutātingu ōvā)[3] and "Three Days of Happiness" (三日間の幸福, Mikkakan no kōfuku).[4] These novels were adaptions of "What it was like rewinding back ten years and starting over from the age of ten" and "I sold my lifespan for ten thousand yen per year" respectively.

In 2019, their novel "Your Story" (君の話, Kimi no hanashi) placed 40th in the Yoshikawa Eiji Prize for New Writers.
