Sujatha Vijaykumar is an Indian Producer[1] [2] predominantly working in Tamil cinema. She was born in Andhra Pradesh on 1st of January, 1961. She began her career in Cinema Industry at her early age by working in Film Institute Short films. She Owns the Production House "Home Movie Makers". Her famous movies are [3] Veerappu, Bhoomi, Adanga maru[4].Siren is her latest Movie [5] Which is Multi-lingual. The Telugu version Teaser was released by Dil Raju [6][7]
Early Life[edit]
She was the student of Film Institute. Actor Rajinikanth was her classmate and colleague in short films[8][9] She made several serials for 20 years in Sun TV after which she began her movie Production journey [10]
Family & Friends[edit]
She is married to Krishnamoorthy Vijaykumkar[11].Her elder daughter Aarthi is married[12] to Ponniyin Selvan fame Actor Jayam Ravi. They share a close bond in Profession as well in family[13] She is a very close friend of Actress and Politician Khushbu[14] During the Pandemic time, She and Kushbu met CM Edappadi K. Palaniswami representing Tamil Serial Industry to discus about the serial shooting regulations [15]
Career[edit]
Sujatha Vijaykumar Started her very own Production House Home Movie Makers in the year 1999 and won Tamil Nadu State Award for best serial in the year 2012 for Uthiripookal.[16] Ganga, Madhavi, Karai, Manaivi and Lakshmi are some of her best serials to which she was also the creative head.
Current Designation[edit]
Sujatha Vijaykumar is a Steering Committee member[17] of CII Dakshin, which was inaugurated by CM MK Stalin [18] [19] in the year 2022. She is the president of STEPS (Society of Television Producers of South India). Sujatha Vijaykumar is the Chamber Member of South Indian Film Council[20] with the electing power.
Awards[edit]
She is awarded as the Best Debut Producer of Kollywood by "Galatta Nakshatra Awards" in 2019 for the Movie Adanga Maaru. For the same movie she was also Awarded as the Best Women Producer by JFW on same year and same Movie Adangamaru[21] Her Production house received Best Serial State Award in the year 2012 for Uthiripookal
