A number of educational institutions have benefited from funding provided by the Foundation. For example, about $100 million was donated to renovate the Zarechenskaya secondary school in the Odintsovo district where the Kerimov family lives.[1] More than 1 million rubles was donated by the Foundation to Saint Petersburg State University.[2]

The Suleyman Kerimov Foundation funds medical institutions as well as medical treatment for individuals where financial aid is required.[3][4][5] The Foundation also supports the non-profit organization Pinocchio which treats child burn victims.[6] Kerimov is himself a burn victim.[7]

The Suleyman Kerimov Foundation is a supporter of the Russian Wrestling Federation,[8][9] as well as other smaller wrestling organizations.[10]
Religion[edit]
The Suleyman Kerimov Foundation paid for thousands of Dagestan residents to make the Hajj.[11][12] However, this funding was discontinued in 2014 after four years.[13] It also paid for the building of a hotel near the Shalbuzdag Mountain in southern Dagestan, considered holy by the local Muslim population.[14] The Foundation also funded the building of a mosque in Moscow.[15]
