Sunethradevi Pirivena
The Sunethra devi Pirivena in Pepiliyana is a 600 year-old Pirivena, known for being one of the lesser known places of study in Buddhism and also so happens to be an academic institution.[1]
History[edit]
King Parakramabahu VI of the Kingdom of Kotte, constructed one of Sri Lanka’s greatest spiritual and historic monuments in honour of his mother, Queen Sunethradevi, whom he is said to have been extremely close to.[2]
