Sunflower Occupation
Sunflower Occupation is a documentary about the Sunflower Movement that took place in Taiwan in 2014. It is produced by the Taipei Documentary Filmmakers Union, with directors including Chou Shi-lun (周世倫), Fu Yue (傅榆), Wang Pei-fen (王佩芬), Chen Yu-ching (陳育青), Tsai Tsung-lung (蔡崇隆), Tsai Ching-ju (蔡靜茹), Huang Chao-hui (黃兆徽), Lee Chia-hua (李家驊), and Kevin H.J. LEE(李惠仁).
The directors initiated an online crowdfunding campaign that was supported by over 1,700 people in just four days, raising over 2.5 million. Director He Chao-ti said they didn't have a budget in the beginning. Their primary goal was to complete the film. The crowdfunding had already achieved the goal by the second day. They hope to promote the film further as the next step.[1]
The film covers 6 themes, including The Raid of State Apparatus, which records the night on March 23.
On October 27, 2014, a media preview of the documentary took place at the SPOT-Huashan in Taipei.[2]
