Park Sung-jin (born January 16, 1993).[1] He is the leader, rhythm guitarist, vocalist, and composer of South Korean band Day6 under JYP Entertainment.
Early life
He was born in Busan, South Korea. He has joined many singing competitions since a young age. Then, he signed under JYP Entertainment.
Career
He trained in every lesson like the others, but he wasn't good at dancing. So, the company’s development team decided to form a band because they didn't want to abandon his unique voice.[2][3] So, he was a part of the upcoming acoustic band called 5live.
In 2014, he appeared in the program WIN: Who is Next? (where JYP Entertainment’s trainees competed with YG Entertainment’s trainees)[4] as a part of JYP's vocalist team with his fellow Day6 members Jae, Young K, Wonpil, and the ex-member Junhyeok.
In the same year, the debut of 5live was cancelled because the company wanted to launch a rock band instead. At the time, Sungjin had to change his instrument from Cajón (that he had played for 2–3 years) to guitar.
In 2015, after the new drummer, Dowoon, joined the band, he finally debuted as a leader, guitarist, and vocalist of Day6.
In 2017, he appeared on episode 412 of the singing program Duet Song Festival[5][6] with Shin Hyo-beom, covering the latter's song I Love You (난 널 사랑해). He returned to the show in episode 828 with Shin and covered Kim Dong-wook’s song called For Her (그녈 위해).
