SSTR2021

SSTR (Sunrise Sunset Touring Rally)[1] is a motorcycle touring event [2] in Japan started in 2013 by Shinji Kazama, a motorcycle adventurer who participated in the Paris-Dakar Rally for the first time as a Japanese rider in 1982.

Rule[edit]

Participants will start on the east coast of the main island of Japan, which they have decided themselves, at sunrise and finish at Chirihama coast in Ishikawa prefecture by sunset.

History[edit]

  • On June 29, 2013, Shinji Kazama and 16 people made a test run from Akatsuki Terminal Park in Odaiba, Tokyo to Chirihama Beach in Ishikawa Prefecture.
  • October 19-20, 2013. The first. 130 motorcycles participated. May 24-25, 2014. 503 units 522 people.
  • May 30-31, 2015. 913 units 955 people.
  • September 17-18, 2016. 1790 units 1856 people.
  • May 20-21, 2017. 2325 units 2413 people.
  • October 14-15, 2017. 105 units 108 people.
  • May 26-27, 2018. 3000 units.
  • May 25-26, 2019. 2020. To prevent coronavirus infection, "My SSTR" rule was introduced, in which participant can select the date of challenge between 1st October 2020 and 31st March 2021. [3] [4] 5000 units (confirmation required)
  • October 2-17, 2021. Held with coronavirus infection control. October 2, 9 and 16, and distributed format (MY SSTR) on October 3-8 and October 10-15. 5700 units[5]
