Super Air Jet is an Indonesian start-up low-cost carrier planning to launch with three 180-seat A320-200s
. It intends to operate domestic routes initially and will target Indonesian millennials with a strong inclination for travel. The start-up is linked to Lion Air Group which owns three other airlines, namely Lion Air and Wings Air in Indonesia, Malindo Air in Malaysia and Thai Lion Air in Thailand.[1]
Corporate profile
In June 2021, it was announced that Super Air jet had attained its Air Operator Certificate from the Indonesia Civil Aviation Authority. The company is majority-owned by PT Kabin Kita Top, which is a private company owned by the sons of Kusnan and Rusdi Kirana, who founded the Lion Air Group in 1999.[2]
Destinations
Based out of Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, the LCC plans to fly to 10 domestic points, namely - Banjarmasin, Batam, Denpasar, Lombok, Medan, Padang, Palembang, Pekanbaru, Pontianak and Surabaya.[3]
