S.K. Roy is a Senior Bureaucrat in the Government of Assam. He has held key posts, the most important being the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup District.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]. In this capacity he handled a burning issue of that time in Assam, i.e. The Rani Tea Estate incident[9][10]. He was also the Project Director of Assam State Aids Control Society[11] in a crucial time when the HIV cases were rising in Assam[12]. The project to rehabilitate sex workers to bring down cases of HIV infection in the state of Assam was his brainchild[13]. He has held several other key positions as well in the Assam Government like the Commissioner of The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (G.M.C)[14]. He is a recipient of the President’s Census Silver Medal for his meritorious work during the Census 2011[15]. Presently he is posted as the Advisor and Secretary of The Assam Electricity Regulatory Commission and is also a member of the Smart Grid Consultation Committee (SG-CC) of Assam[16]
