Svensk Webbtelevision
Svensk Webbtelevision or Swebbtv is a Swedish online streaming channel founded in 2016 by Jan [Sjunesson] to cover topics of politics and social issues. The currrent main platform is it's YouTube channel.[1] The channel has for the past two years been run by Mikael Willgert who is also the lead reporter and presenter on most of the channel's programs. The themes are political correctness, mass-migration, climate alarmism, the Swedish economy, democracy, nationalism, socialism, globalism Swedish criminal justice system and main stream media including SVT Swedish Public Television.
The aim of the channel, according to its website [2] and in-clip announcements is to provide an alternative factual media source against the perceived collusion of main stream media, who according to Swebbtv.[3] and others deliberately avoid covering topics within the above-mentioned areas notably government policy on immigration, climate change, political correctness, and moral values by the mainstream media, mainly in Sweden.
The channel has received critisim[4] which often focuses on accusations of catering to the anti immigrant parties such as the Sweden Democrats. [5]Mikael Willgert has responded that the channel does not have a political affiliation to any political party. [2]
The channel features interviews and in-depth discussions with specialists on the subjects discussed including legal experts, doctors, scientists, field experts and witnesses to events. The online viewership mainly on YouTube stands well up against popular programming on the main public network, SVT.
Most content is produced in Swedish language only but some subtitled in English for a worldwide audience including discussions on climate change. The channel is funded by voluntary donations from viewers.
Recurring programs: "Lördagsintervjuvn" - The Saturday interview, an in-dept interview featuring expert in area discussed. "Erik och Matti" - current events and politics covered by two presenters, Erik and Matti.
Swebbtv removal from YouTube[edit]
On the Friday the 2nd of August the channel disappeared from its main distributor, YouTube. According to the channel's website the only notice visible was that the channel had violated the YouTube community rules but that the repsonsible for the channel had not received prior warnings, the typical three warnings[6] or further explanations.
Swebbtv stated that they have a backup of their videos and are in the process of expanding to alternative hosting platforms which in at least in the interim includes Vimeo. Swebbtv also has content on a Facebook page[7]
The YouTube channel[8] for SwebbTV was re-instated in the late morning on Wednesday 7th of August,
