SVESMI is a Rotterdam and Moscow based group of architects operating within the fields of architecture, urbanism, research and cultural programming. The office is currently involved in a large number of cultural projects in Netherlands and Russia.

Office was founded in 2007 by Alexander Sverdlov and Anastassia Smirnova in Rotterdam, with the sole purpose of producing intelligent, integrated, and transformative designs.
«Microrayon. Tomorrow», a short movie about the possibilities of finding beauty, comfort and a future in the 1970s soviet housing areas (microraion) by proposing architectural and financial strategies to improve them, thereby creating socially and environmentally sustainable areas. It was screened during INTI 2007.[1]
In 2009 SVESMI wins competition for Cultural Centre in Nortwich in collaboration with Gonzalo Rivaz, Francesco Vedovato, Victor Vila Grarcia, Mick van Gemert, Orcun Koken, Magnus Svensson, Maria Lisogorskaya, Durk Landman, Wessel Vreugdenhil, Felix Madrazo, Leo de Jong (1st phase) Dooley Associates, Manchester (2nd phase), ARUP, Peter Mensinga, Marc Ryan.[2]
In 2013 SVESMI completes two first renovated libraries in Moscow for Moscow department of culture under supervision of Sergei Kapkov, Natalia Fishman in collaboration with Boris Kupriyanov.[3][4][5]
In 2014 SVESMI completed evaluation of the first stage of the Moscow libraries renovation project.[6]
In 2016 office won a competition[7] for the redevelopment of two soviet cinemas in Moscow for ADG Group, – Varshava and Voskhod.[8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15]
