Swami Gyanananda (born 1952, Ambala, Haryana, India) is an educationist, philosopher, guide, writer and yogi. His books and lectures on ethics, values, and the Gita have become a chapter for many. He is also a Hindu philosopher and a Social worker.[1]Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand ji believe that Gita is not for a particular religion but is the universal inspiration of all beings.[2]

Biography[edit]

Swami Gyananand was born on 15 May 1952 in Ambala city of Haryana state.[3] He completed his schooling from Ambala and later studied Political Science till his graduation. He earned two master's degrees. Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj has been working on research of holy texts and developing a Gita Research Centre of global standards in Kurukshetra.[4]

Shri Krishna Kripa Seva Samiti[edit]

Gyanananda founded this samiti (organization) dedicated to the divine ideas of meditation, service, and devotion to humanity (satsang, seva and sumiran).[5] He has been continuously teaching the practical benefits of meditation and prayers since 1990 and Inspire for the problems of day to day life and their solutions. While he founded GO (GIEO) Gita to impart the knowledge of Gita from young to old age.[5]


Apart from this, Swami Gyananand has been organizing Gita Mahotsav all over the world. He has organized Gita Mahotsav in big cities like Mauritius[6], London etc..[7][8][9]At a function in Kurukshetra Swami Gyananand said that Gita is an important holy book which has been guiding the humanity since thousand of years.[10]Sanskrit Academy, Panchkula, will be delivered by Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj in the program to make villages "ideal, cultured and stress free".[11]A copy of the Bhagavad Gita unveiled by spiritual guru Swami Gyanananda during the Gita Prerna Mahotsav.[12]
