Swati Kapila is an actress from Jupiter, Florida.[1] She is best known for playing Joanna Ali-Karamali on Bloomers[2] and Ruchi on The Big Bang Theory.[3]
Early life[edit]
Kapila graduated from the Tisch School of Arts at New York University with a BFA in Film and TV.[4]
Career[edit]
Kapila's first major film role was as Simi in Life! Camera Action....[5] Kapila plays the role of Joanna Ali-Karamali on the Youtube webseries Bloomers, which will debut a third season in 2018.[6] In 2017, Kapila played the role of Raj's casual relationship (girl) friend Ruchi on three episodes of The Big Bang Theory.[7]
Awards and nominations[edit]
In 2011, Kapila received a nomination for Best Actress in Best Supporting role in Life! Camera Action... at the World Music & Independent Film Festival.[8]. Kapila also received a normination for Best Supporting Actress at the International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema, London for the same role.[9] In 2014, Kapila received an Indie Series Award normination for Best Supporting Actress in a comedy for Bloomers.[10][11]
