Syaidatul Afifah who is affectionately known as Afifah is the son of the couple Badrul Hamidi Gam and Roziah Zahari. He was born on 23 October 1991 in Ipoh, Perak. He is the second child of three siblings.
Career[edit]
He started his career as a bowler at the age of 9 where his talent was inherited from his father, Badrul Hamidi Gam. He received early guidance in bowling from his father who was then a bowler in a hotel company besides working as a hotel manager in Ipoh, Perak. His father often competed in various bowling tournaments.
Afifah started representing the country as a professional bowling athlete in 2009. On September 3, 2020, he decided to retire from the national squad at the age of 29 after 11 years representing the country. He did not retire completely but just ended his participation in the national team and is still open to becoming a professional bowler as well as ready to compete. He stopped his career in bowling because he wanted to explore new fields including hosting as well as find a career that has a brighter future.
He also wants to be a coach for children at the grassroots level and has plans to set up his own bowling academy to train teenagers under 18 to produce more national bowling players in the future.
