Syduzzaman Sayeed
Syduzzaman (Sayeed) is a British physiotherapist and Conservative Party politician. He stood as the party’s candidate for Ilford South in the 2024 United Kingdom general election and currently serves as Chairman of the Ilford South Conservative Association and Deputy Chairman (Political) for the London East Area Conservatives.[1][2]
Early life and education
Syduzzaman was born in Bangladesh into a family active in local politics and community service. His father was a local politician whose public involvement inspired Syduzzaman’s own commitment to civic engagement and social responsibility. He later moved to the United Kingdom, where he pursued a career in physiotherapy and became active in community initiatives.
Career
Syduzzaman has worked as a physiotherapist within the National Health Service (NHS) for over 16 years, supporting patients in rehabilitation and physical recovery.[3][4] He is a registered physiotherapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).[5] His clinical background has informed his wider interest in public service and healthcare policy.
Political career
Syduzzaman entered politics through the Conservative Party, aligning with its focus on individual responsibility, enterprise, and family values. He stood as the Conservative candidate for Ilford South during the 2024 United Kingdom general election, where he received 6,142 votes.[6] The seat was retained by Labour's Jas Athwal.[7]
He currently serves as Chairman of the Ilford South Conservative Association and Deputy Chairman (Political) of the London East Area Conservatives.[8]
Personal life
Syduzzaman is married, and his wife works at a local school. They have two sons. He continues to practise as a physiotherapist alongside his political activities and has expressed a commitment to promoting community cohesion, educational opportunity, and social responsibility.
