Syed Abdul Salam Al-Gillani

Syed Abdul Salam Al-Gillani, Jilani, Gailani, Kilani, Baghdadi, Al-Qadri, was born in Baghdad 1265 A.H to a sufi family, from the descendants of Syed Abdul Qadir Jilani , and belongs to Bani Hashim from the Quraysh tribe. They had four brothers named as Syed Suleman Al-Qadri, Syed Zain ud Din Qadri, Syed Abdul Rehman Al-Mahd Al-Gillani, Syed Hassan Al- Qadri. He received his spiritual training directly from his father Naqeeb-ul-Ashraaf Syed Ali Al-Qadri, who was a Sufi and the custodian of the mausoleum of Abdul-Qadir Gilani. He completed his other traditional religious studies at the Madrassa in Baghdad, where he studied under scholars of Iraq.
Since in young age, he began touring few parts of the world for propagating Islam and the teachings of Tariqa Qadiria. During stay, he also has a large circle of devotees in different cities like Makkah, Quetta, Karachi and Bombay etc. In 1356H, Abdul Salam died at the age of 91 leaving his son Syed Saeed Shah. Maulana Zahoor ul Hassan was the khalifah of Syed Abdul Salam Gillani Reported his death from Karachi.
