The organization was founded on May 5, 1997, through a collaboration between Cégep Beauce-Appalaches, Groupe Procycle Inc., and Human Resources Development Canada (later replaced by Emploi-Québec).[1]
In 2006, TANDEM International introduced a 15-week English immersion program for job seekers, called Fitness Tandem, supported financially by Emploi-Québec. Participants completed the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) upon completion.[2]
In 2008, the organization launched "English Coaching," a program for businesses. The program placed participants in a unilingual English work environment for three hours per day over 6 to 9 weeks. Training took place at TANDEM International's location in Saint-Joseph.[1]
