TEC Edmonton is a non-profit business accelerator located in Edmonton, Alberta. A joint venture between the University of Alberta, Merck & Co., and Edmonton Economic Development Corporation (EEDC), TEC Edmonton provides strategic business support and funding for early-stage technology companies, as well as managing commercialization of University of Alberta technologies.[1][2]
TEC has assisted in the creation of over 27 successful spinoff companies since 2012.[3][4]
TEC Edmonton was ranked fourth in the North American university business incubator rankings by UBI Global Index in 2015,[citation needed] and was awarded "Incubator of the Year" by Startup Canada in 2014.[5]
