Design
Development
The TMM-6 was developed in the 1990s for both domestic and export purposes. It was designed by Omsk Machine Building and Design Bureau and was built on the chassis of MZKT-7930 "Astrologer".[1]
Description
The TMM-6 (Tyazhelo Mekhniznrovanny Most 6, "heavy mechanized bridge 6") is an unarmored bridge layer designed in Russia for domestic and foreign use. It is Russia's most advanced bridge layer and can be operated by two soldiers.[1]
Bridge assembly
The bridge is launched using hydraulics and bridges can be connected together in order to make a bridge as long as is required to cross the obstacles. The most common assembly is six vehicles to make a 102 meter bridge and requires 50 minutes to assemble.
Service history
Russia
The TMM-6 is manufactured and was designed in Russia. Russia is also its primary user. [1]
Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan is also a user of the TMM-6 [1]
