TV-nytt was a news program on SVT from 1969 to 1978. TV-nytt conveyed news in bulletin form.
In connection with the division of SVT into two tv channels, the central editorial office at the Radiohuset in Gärdet was commissioned to broadcast news on both radio and television's two channels. From here, daily news programs were broadcast under the TV-nytt banner.
TV-nytt was broadcast for the first time at the end of November 1969, initially only on the first channel, and then also on TV2 when it started on 5 December. TV-nytt took over Aktuellt's old time for the main broadcast at 7.30 pm on TV1. In addition to this, shorter bulletins were broadcast around 18.00 and at 22.00 on TV1 and 19.00 and 21.00 on TV2.
In 1972, the news business was reorganized and more responsibility was transferred to the channels' own news programs. As a result, TV2's news program Rapport took over at 7.30 pm. TV-nytt kept its bulletin format. According to a decision by the Swedish Radio Board, the broadcasts were not allowed to contain moving images, so the news was illustrated with still images.
Newscasters included Sune Lindgren, Svante Sedvallson, Mildred Eriksson, Bengt Bylund, Jane Brick, Anita Cedring, Mats Hådell , Bror Säfström, Elisabeth af Geijerstam, Marianne Fällström, Rolf Kandell, Ivo Grenz , Lennart Widlund and Peter Bergstedt.
At the end of 1978, the central editorial office and TV-nytt ceased. Its tasks were taken over by Rapport and Aktuellt.
