TXL Films is an American film production company founded by director and producer Taron Lexton in 2004.  The company’s headquarters are located in Burbank, California.[1]

History[edit]

TXL Films gets its name from the initials of Taron Xavier Lexton,[2] who founded the company in Los Angeles in 2004.[3][4]

In an interview with Shoutout LA, Lexton said the launching point of his career was when he volunteered to shoot a series of videos for the human rights organization his mother founded, and that after the videos’ successful release in late 2005, he “started getting lots of phone calls”.[5]  The videos to which Lexton referred were public service announcements regarding the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which earned him the United Nations Writers Society Award for Excellence[6] and reached a viewership of hundreds of millions.[7]

Following this, in 2007, Lexton teamed up with husband and wife producing team Nathan Lorch and Milena Ferreira, to direct the short film, Struck, written by Ferreira.[8]  The film stars Bodhi Elfman, and features Beth Riesgraf, Veronica MarsJason Dohring[9], Jenna Elfman, Kelly Preston, Ethan Suplee, Erika Christensen, Riverdale’s Marisol Nichols[10], and Jennifer Aspen.[11] Struck screened out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival[12] and won numerous awards at various film festivals.[13]

Lorch and Ferreira then became producers for TXL Films, also taking on the roles of CEO and Co-CEO, respectively.  The company continued to expand, with additional staff forming the core team, and each taking on varying roles on different TXL projects, covering all stages of production from development through post-production.[14][15][16]

TXL Films has gone on to produce feature films,[17][18][19] short films,[20][21][22] and a television series, with Lexton directing the majority of the projects.[23]  They have also produced commercials, many of which have earned them industry awards,[24][25][26] and Lexton has directed three Super Bowl ads.[27]  They have filmed on all seven continents in over twenty countries,[28][29] and their work has aired on major networks such as Fox, Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, MTV, and CNN.[30]
