Taha Afshar
Taha Afshar (born 1983) is an English painter and sculptor.[1].
Career and works[edit]
He is best known for his self-reflective and contemplative Nordic landscapes.[2] His painting draws influence from J. M. W. Turner and Cy Twombly [3], whilst being linked with contemporary painters such as Peter Doig.[4]
In 2017, he exhibited alongside Monir Farmanfarmaian and Y.Z. Kami in an exhibition to celebrate the 700th Anniversary of the Garden of Mystery (Gulshan-i Raz), an important work of mystical poetry [5]. The exhibition was supported by Dr Sussan Babaie (The Courtauld Institute of Art) and Dr Ladan Akbarnia (The British Museum).[6]
