Taiga Imanaga (今永虎雅 Toramasa Imanaga, born 9 August 1999) is a Japanese professional boxer. As an amateur, Imanaga competed at the 2016 Youth World Championships and the 2021 World Championships.[1][2]

Professional career[edit]
Early career[edit]
Imanaga made his professional debut against Takahiro Hamazaki on 29 June 2022. In the second round, Imanaga knocked his opponent down twice. Following the second knockdown, Imanaga secured the win via knockout after Hamazaki's corner opted to call an end to the bout.[3] Imanaga's second bout as a professional was against John Lawrence Ordonio on 26 August 2022. In the fourth round, Imanaga put his opponent on the canvas after connecting with a number of left hooks to the body. Imanaga was declared the winner by knockout after Ordonio was unable to recover from the knockdown.[4] On 26 December 2022, Imanaga faced Roy Sumugat. In the second round, Imanaga scored a knockdown after landing a right hook to the head of his opponent. In the sixth round, Imanaga knocked Sumugat down for a second time after connecting with a left hook to the head. The bout was called to an end after Sumugat failed to recover from the second knockdown.[5]
