The Talking News Federation (TNF) is a registered charity in the United Kingdom which serves to represent the interests of Talking Newspapers across the country.

History[edit]

The Talking News Federation was formed 24 February 2005[1] following a the separation of the Talking Newspaper Association of the United Kingdom into two bodies; Talking Newspaper Association of the United Kingdom continued to produce audio versions of national newspapers and magazines, and the new Talking News Federation was established to be an umbrella organisation that represents the interests of local Talking Newspapers in the UK.

In 2020 the charity became a CIO[2]

Purpose[edit]

  • To provide information, guidance and help to local Talking Newspapers across the UK.
  • To help Talking Newspapers provide a comprehensive local news service to blind and partially sighted people.
  • To provide people with information and contact details.
  • To campaign at a National level on related issues on behalf of local Talking Newspapers.
