Talmix, formerly MBA & Company, is a digital staffing platform that connects businesses to talent for project work.[1]

History[edit]

The company, formerly known as "MBA & Company", was launched in 2016. MBA & Company was founded by Daniel Callaghan in 2010, set up to match MBA graduates to companies needing consulting expertise to work on projects.[2]

MBA & Co. rebranded as Talmix in 2016[3], and received funding from MMC Ventures, Tamweel and Piton Capital. The company migrated from a business school alumni network into a wider talent marketplace, at the time connecting 25,000 independent business consultants to project-based work.[4]

The company is included in the Spend Matters Independent Contract Workers (ICW) SolutionMap category.[5] Talmix is also part of the Talent Tech Labs Talent Acquisition Ecosystem in the temporary labor marketplace category.[6]

In December 2020, Talmix was included as part of the 2020 Best Staffing Firms to Work For awards, announced by Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA), an independent global advisor on staffing and workforce solutions.[7]

Business model[edit]

Talmix is an online marketplace,"designed to create quick connections to highly qualified business talent".[8][9] The Talmix platform enables clients to post their requirements, and then Talmix notifies best-fit talent of these opportunities.[10][11] Like Catalant and Gerson Lehrman Group, businesses find consultants by topic, budget and location.[12] Clients can then review proposals and reach out to available talent, or build talent pools.[13]

According to Forbes, "similar to the mix at Comatch, platform members include both the alumni of top consultancies and operating experts from a wide range of industries and geographies [...] the work is currently balanced among North America, Asia Pacific, the UK and rest of world".[14] According to the Future of Work Exchange, Talmix "is bringing to market a blend of talent marketplace and direct sourcing functionality".[15] As of June 2020, Talmix has a 60,000+ talent network, covering 150 countries.[16]
