Talysh

The name Talysh is one of the commonly used names around the Caspian Sea. Thus, one of the nationalities living in this area is called Talysh. They live around the Talysh mountains. These mountains are located in the southern and northern territories of the modern Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, respectively. In 1993, the Republic of Talysh-Mughan with the same name existed in this territory. The mother tongue of Talysh and the state language of this short-lived republic is called Talysh language. In 1747-1828, the Talysh khanate existed here. In addition, one of the largest generations of this area is the generation of Talishkhanovs. They had many bright representatives in the field of science, culture, and politics.
