Tamara Johnson-Shealy

Tamara Johnson-Shealy is a Democrat from Georgia. She has run for Georgia State Senate District 40 three times. In 2014, she ran unopposed in the Primary. She faced Republican incumbent Fran Millar in the General Election and lost, only receiving 37.4% of the vote. In 2016, she ran unopposed in the Primary and lost again to Millar, this time, securing 43.81% of the vote. In 2018, she faced Sally Harrell, a former Georgia State Representative, in the Democratic Primary.[1]

In June 2018, Johnson-Shealy created started a movement called Withhold The Vote, [2][3] which urges Women of Color to withhold their vote from white candidates.
