Tangany is a blockchain company based in Munich, Germany. It was founded in 2018 by Martin Kreitmair, Christopher Zapf and Alexey Utin.[1]
The company offers a blockchain white-label custody service to create and manage blockchain private keys which can be used for various Blockchains like Ethereum or Bitcoin. The company sees the future development in blockchain headed to digital currencies like the digital Euro. Those developments are forced by projects like Facebook Libra according to co-founder Martin Kreitmair.[2]
Company[edit]
In March 2018 the project was started and it is rooted at the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship which is closely connected to the University of applied Science Munich.[3] Although two of the founders have graduated of the University in 2013, it is not to be considered as a spin-off.
In September 2018 the company received a grant by the Federal Ministry for Economic of Germany for being an innovative startup.[4]
In early 2019 Tangany officially released it's technology 'White-Label Custody' to create and manage blockchain-based private keys via an API. The technology is used to tokenize assets and to store digital assets safely. In September 2019 the company launched its complementary product 'cold wallet' storage.
In January 2020 the company managed to receive funding by High-Tech Gründerfonds and several side investors.[5] High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) is a major Venture Capital investor in Germany and partly funded by the German Ministry for Economics and corporates like Bosch, SAP and more.[6]
