Tanupriya Kalita (b. 12th October, 1988) is an Indian assamese poet and singer born in bongaigaon district of Assam, India.[1][2][3]. She is well known for her debut songs like "Uri Jaboloi Mon Jai" & "Jonmodin" which are globally accepted and appreciated[4][5][6][7][8].

Early life[edit]

Tanupriya Kalita was born in bongaigaon district of Assam, a north eastern state of India. She is daughter of Subhash Chandra Kalita and Mamata Choudhaury[9]. She did her schooling and college in Bongaigaon, Assam. She also did her post graduate in music and received many recognition in stage performances and live shows [10] in her childhood during her schooling period. During her child hood performance, her musical talent was appreciated by Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika [11].

  1. Assamese Melody Song Uri Jaboloi Mon Jai which means "mind wants to fly" [12][13][14] and Jonmodin which means "birthday" [15][16][17] available on all major digital platforms.
