Tara Furiani (Tare-uh Fury-on-ē) (born Tara M. Norris on December 27, 1980) is an American CEO, Host of Not the HR Lady, Author, writer,[1] Keynote Speaker, People Consultant & Team Builder. Furiani is known as a writer and speaker, for her book F*ck Your Office Snacks, and as the founder of the Learning Community, CoolAssClasses.com.[2]

Education

Furiani attended Loyola Marymount University in California from 1999 to 2003 where she received her MS in Organizational Leadership and a BBA in Marketing.[3] From 2016 to 2018 she attended the University of Arizona where she received a MS in Psychology.[4]

Career

Her personal mission had been the catalyst for accepting the first Chief People Officer role at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas (including Neon, Mondo Tees, Drafthouse Films, AGFA, and Rolling Roadshow).[5][6] Alamo initially sought-out Furiani for her expertise in handling workplace crisis, as the organisation had rampant discrimination issues and no People Team leadership. [7][8] In her first year, Furiani reorganised the organisation’s practices.[9] In March of 2021, she gave two talks about "agility in HR" and "aligning HR and business strategy" at the global conference Hacking HR.[10]

Personal life

Furiani lives with a family of eleven, which includes her co-host and partner Justin Boggs and her seven children.[11]

Certifications

Furiani has multiple certifications related to behavioral analytics modeling which include; Predictive Index, DiSC, Dale Carnegie, Franklin Covey, and Meyers-Briggs.[12]
