Taras Perevarukha
Taras Perevarukha (born 1981, Donetsk, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian photographer based in London. His work explores themes of memory, stillness, and impermanence, with a particular focus on the perception of space and time.
Practice
Perevarukha works on long-term projects that can span several years. His earlier work, Emptiness and Store, was made before the full-scale war in Ukraine. More recent projects include Fragments and Inner November, an ongoing series documenting annual visits to Scotland.
He prints on handmade Japanese paper, including washi and kozo varieties, treating the physical print as an object in its own right. He also produces limited-edition artist books using traditional Japanese binding.
Publications
Perevarukha's work has been published in LFI (Leica Fotografie International) in issues 2 and 6 (2023) and issue 4 (2024),[1] Plivka and People Magazine (2023), Digital Photo Magazine (2016), and Photography Monthly, issue 168 (2014). His work has also been featured in Od Review[2] and Fisheye Magazine (France).[3]
