Tarbiat School
Tarbiat School (Persian: مدرسه مقدسه تربیت) was established in 1908 AD in the middle of the Qajar period and during the Persian Constitutional Revolution by Agha Mullah Alireza Tarbiat in the historical city of Shiraz, Persia. Tarbiat School was the first officially registered school in the modern style thoughout southern Iran where the traditional teachings (such as the Qur'an, Persian literature and Mathematics), were taught along with modern sciences such as Natural sciences, Geography, English and French languages. Agha Mullah Alireza Tarbiat invited an Indian teacher from British Raj India to Shiraz to teach English language. The reputation of the school was such that even Ghavam-ol-Molk, the Governor of Fars, sent his children to study in this school.[1][2]
In 1919 AD, Tarbiat Girls' School (Persian: مدرسه تربیت نسوان) was established as the first public girls' school in Shiraz and throughout southern Iran by Agha Mullah Alireza separately from the Tarbiat boys' school. In fact, before the establishment of the girls' school, his wife taught girls until the first formal girls' school was officially established.[1][2]
