Tarik Rêver ( born as Tarik Abdul-Alim June 14 1978 ) and is a civil rights activist, dancer, actor, and model. He continues to protect the rights of women, children, and LGBT communities. In addition he is also outspoken against all forms of racism and a animal rights advocate with a vegan platform. Currently he is still organizing while being disabled with Myasthenia Gravis.
Equal rights event for Casa Anandrea
The fundraiser was held at club Numbers for Casa Anandrea. The benefit raise funds for the shelter that is designed to help Latina Transgender women. The event was organized by Tarik Rêver and managed with the help of Cassie le Phenix. The shelter is struggling to stay open. Casa Anandrea is founded by Organizacion Latina Trans en Texas (OLTT) in May 2017.
Hurricane Harvey relief for women and children
Partnering with My Petal Club, donations were provided to the Houston Area Women’s Center. Tarik Rêver created a online campaign to help raise awareness and funds for women that were domestically abused during Hurricane Harvey.
Earthdance happens once a year and in this time was before Tarik Rêver became disabled. He gathered local performers as well as performed himself to increase attendance for the fundraiser. The event was created by the Houston Hare Krishna center to feed local starving children. Similar to this event he danced at two Hobby Center performances. The proceeds for the benefit went to Houston children in need.
Modeling and Fashion Design
In the year 2008 Sinical Magazine interviewed Tarik Rêver while at the time he still went by his given name Tarik Abdul-Alim.
While it is reported that Tarik Rêver modeled he also designed and displayed his own fashion. One of the most known was the collaborative fashion shows was at The Artery that aired on PBS by the title Advent Garden
