Tathagat Vardhan
Tathagat Harsh Vardhan is an Indian politician from Bihar. He is a member of the Jan Suraaj Party and the son of former Union Minister K. K. Tiwary. He is contesting the 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly election from the Buxar Assembly constituency.[1][2]

Political career
Tathagat Harsh Vardhan began his political career with the Indian National Congress, where he served as the district president of the party's Buxar unit.[4] He later left the Congress and joined the Jan Suraaj Party, founded by political strategist Prashant Kishor in October 2024.[5]
In August 2025, he participated in a rally in Buxar organized by the Jan Suraaj Party, where he echoed founder Prashant Kishor's calls for transformation in Bihar.[6] On 13 October 2025, the Jan Suraaj Party announced him as its candidate for the Buxar Assembly constituency in the upcoming Bihar Legislative Assembly election.[7]
Harsh Vardhan describes himself as a "Gandhian rooted in Nehruvian ideals" and has criticised the current Congress leadership as being controlled by NGOs rather than traditional party values.[8] He advocates for "honesty, transparency, and politics based on public issues" under the Jan Suraaj banner, which he interprets as "janata ka raj" (people's rule).[9]
