Tauqir Sharif

Tauqir Ahmed Sharif, who goes by the nickname Tox, is a British–Pakistani aid worker and activist. He is a survivor of the Gaza flotilla raid on the MV Mavi Marmara flotilla.

Career

Born and raised in London’s East End, he currently resides in war torn Syria. Tox is an independent activist who takes a keen interest in helping and serving those in need across the world. He founded Live Updates from Syria in 2013, a grass root organisation in Syria which aims to not only highlight the catastrophic civil war but also aims to help those affected by the war.

Apr 2012: First aid convoy to Syria

Nov 2012: Second Aid convoy to Syria and moved to Syria.

Tox set up Live Updates From Syria in 2013, an online Platform across different social media sites to raise awareness and donation for those who are victims to the war in Syria.

Personal life

Tox married Racquell in 2011, a fellow aid worker from south London and in November 2012, they both decided to move to Syria to provide long term aid work to the people who have been afflicted by the war. Since, Tox has become a father to five children, all born in Syria, all of whom have no citizenship and are stateless.^{[citation needed]}
