Taxonomy governance

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Taxonomy Governance is the rules, responsibilities and processes used to maintain consistency and cohesiveness and procedures of a taxonomy over time.[1]:{{{1}}}[additional citation(s) needed]

The continued governance of a taxonomy needs to be able to identify the types of people or roles within an organization who are not just responsible for the taxonomy, but also those who are interested in its development and continued use.[citation needed] Taxonomy governance often includes policies for both the overall processes for taxonomy maintenance and specific processes for updating or editing terms within the taxonomy.[citation needed] Policies are agreed-upon steps to enforce taxonomy maintenance processes and are created as documents that are accessed as necessary within the organization.[citation needed]
