The Taylor Acoustic brand began in 1997 when David T. Taylor participated in a High-End Audio exhibition at the Hotel Atrium Hyatt in Budapest, Hungary, and he received 74.6% of the total votes from professional participants and jury members.

As of 2014 Taylor Acoustic had more than 70 hi-fi products and concentrates on having full control over the sound, from the design and manufacturing to the assembly of the final product.
