Taylor Blackwell is an American actress, musician, screenwriter, songwriter, director, model, screenwriter, journalist, children's book illustrator and artist. She has appeared in Charlie's Angels and America's Most Wanted (both 2011), Army Wives (2012), American Gigolo. She had regular roles in Magic City (2012–2013), Tweet: The Series (2015 and 2015), American Gigolo (2022) and a guest appearance as Liza Vanderspiegle (Harry's daughter) in Resident Alien in 2022.

Early life[edit]

Taylor Blackwell (born 1998) in West Palm Beach, Florida, to her Mother Meredith, and her father Ric, a former anchor on WPEC Channel 12.[2][3] She was raised in her hometown of Jupiter, Florida and has three younger siblings, Owen, Charlie, and Drew.[3] Blackwell studied arts and theatre at the Bak performing arts middle school in West Palm Beach.[4] At the age of 18, Blackwell moved to Los Angeles to pursue her creative passions.[1] As well as being an actress, Blackwell is also a musician, screenwriter, songwriter, director, model, screenwriter, journalist, children's book illustrator and artist.[5][4] Blackwell was an C-Span Honorable Mention Winner 2012[6] for her video Tapping Into The Preamble which was selected from 1,203 other entries.[6] Blackwell has appeared in many commercials which includes Universal, Olive Garden, Burger King, and Walmart, and has a big following on social media.[5][4][7]

Acting career[edit]

Blackwell started acting at the age of five, in her first acting role at Jupiter's Art Space,[4] in commercials, then whilst as a student in many short films, before her first appearance on the small screen as a child actress in One Tree Hill in 2009.[4] She has appeared in Charlie's Angels[4] and America's Most Wanted (both 2011).[4]

At the age of thirteen, Blackwell landed a main role as Lauren Evans, a gifted teenager in Starz Original 1950's series Magic City (2012–2013) alongside Jeffrey Dean Morgan who played her father, and Olga Kurylenko, her mother.[2] Blackwell had a regular role in Tweet: The Series in 2015 and appeared in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend as Lily in 2015.[4]

In 2018, Blackwell made the short video Walk On By which was a chat with Burt Reynolds who was her acting mentor, he sadly passed away the same year.[8][9]

In 2022, Blackwell guest appeared in Resident Alien for a single episode opposite Alan Tudyk as Liza Vanderspiegle, Harry's daughter.[10] Later that year, Blackwell has a recurring role in American Gigolo, playing Lisa Beck, in a cast qhich included Jon Bernthal, Gretchen Mol and Lizzie Brocheré.[11] Blackwell plays the lead role in the movie Dangerous Cult, due out in 2022.[12]

In 2023, she starred in the film Pursued, alongside Molly Ringwald and Angus Macfadyen.[13]

Music career[edit]

Blackwell writes her own music, sings, and plays the piano, ukulele, guitar, accordion, bass and auto-harp.[5] At age 15, Blackwell began making music,[14] later co-forming a punk band named The Tenth with fellow actress Harley Quinn Smith.[1] Blackwell's first solo album In Memory of Haroldine was completed and released in 2021,[14] from which she performed the song Never Could live on Today with Hoda & Jenna in October 2021.[15]
