Temir xotin (The Iron Woman) is a 1990 film directed by Isamat Ergashev based on the work of the same name by Sharaf Boshbekov. The film sheds light on the anxieties of rural life.
Plot
Qo`chqor(Kochkor), a mechanic, lives a simple village life. One day, after he came home drunk and messed up, his wife picked him up and left the house (saying, "Let it be a lesson"). On this day, Olimtoy, an engineer-robotic technician from the city, who is his acquaintance, comes to the house of Qo`chqor. Olimtoy wants to bring a cotton-picking gynoid-robot to this village and start testing. Qo`chqor is attracted to the robot, which he names "Alomat". In the meantime, Alomat analyzes the lives of people, comes to cognitive dissonance and commits suicide by a village transformer. Olimtoy blames Qo`chqor for this, who claims that he tortured the robot with extremely difficult tasks. Qo`chqor denies these accusations and says he didn’t give her half of the tasks that every Uzbek woman does every day[1]
